WHO WE ARE:
We are a traditional family winery founded in 1975 in the town of Manzaneque (Toledo). We started out producing wines from our own vines to take advantage of the quality of the grapes that resulted from the unique features of the region (eastern area of the Montes de Toledo region). The altitude above sea level of this mountainous area (750 meters), the special characteristics of the land (clay-limestone, stony, and good drainage), and the peculiar climate (extreme continental, with long and cold winters, hot and dry summers, sharply contrasting temperatures between night and day, and short intermediate seasons) guarantee a grape production of the highest quality.
After years of making wines from our own vines, we decided to include grapes from other local growers in order to diversify and enrich the production process so it could benefit from using a wider variety of raw materials. Traditional varieties (Airen, Tempranillo, Garnacha, etc.) have been combined with other grapes that are extremely popular thanks to their strong aromatic complexity and versatility (Chardonnay, Viura, Moscatel, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, etc.).
In addition, the traditional techniques and processes have made way for innovative technologies and production methods.
The winery is now fully equipped with everything it needs, and it is ready to enter the bottled wine market under the leadership of the second generation of the Purificación-Villamayor family.
